A transvaginal ultrasound is the most accurate scan for detecting female reproductive abnormalities. It is a simple and quick procedure that lasts no more than 10 minutes.

To perform the scan, a small probe will be inserted into the vagina. Although it may initially feel uncomfortable, the scan should not cause any discomfort or pain.
