Bone Mineral Density Scan

A Bone Density scan (BMD) is the quickest and most effective tool for early detection of osteoporosis. The scan measures the density (thickness) of the spine and hips to examine if there is any thinning of the bones. This helps determine the risk of bone breaks and fractures.

Preventative medication is now available to prevent early weakening of the bones deteriorating into more severe and painful conditions.
